It seems like yesterday, but it’s been a little over a decade since we opened the doors of Gold Medal Home Health in 2012. At that time there was a staff of two, based in a home office who believed that there was a better way to deliver care to vulnerable populations.

Once we agreed on our mission – to assist individuals with developmental disabilities so that they can live independent and productive lives as integrated citizens in the community – we needed a name for our new company. We knew we wanted to create the best agency provider in the markets we serve, and the gold standard was the benchmark that came to mind. The rest is history; Gold Medal Home Health was the brand!

That name implies offering ‘the best of the best’ in every aspect from the staffing and breath of services to how we run our company and treat our employees. Our belief is that if we hire people who are reliable, empathetic, and caring the rest will fall into place. As we grew, we incorporated employee benefits and perks that include competitive pay, paid time off, multiple bonus opportunities, raises, medical & prescription insurance, and a 401K Plan.

Our office team, which has grown considerably since our inception, is comprised of individuals with a depth of diverse experience from health and home care, case management, human resources, staffing and marketing. Our business requires a customer-centric approach, and our team members understand the importance of providing an immediate response 24/7 to all inquiries and requests. That’s a given!

Gold Medal Home Health is nothing without the team of Direct Support Professionals. We are so thankful for the compassionate, reliable care that our Direct Support Professionals provide every day. You are all the backbone of the company and are truly appreciated! When we look back over the last eleven years, we are grateful and proud of Gold Medal Home Health’s evolution. Today we continue to see an increase in the satisfaction scores of the individuals and families we serve and the Direct Support Professionals we employ.

I am personally proud of the number of Direct Support Professionals who have been with us for years and have referred friends and family members to work for the company. This trust speaks to the satisfaction those employees have in their job. An additional bonus which brings us delight is the number of families who have referred individuals in their networks to Gold Medal.

We are always researching systems and processes that allow us to work smarter, more effectively and provide ideas that help everyone we serve to enjoy their lives. In addition to supporting individuals at home and in the community we hold weekly events such as exercise and yoga sessions, sing-a-longs, cooking classes, movies, and trips to fun and exciting places which, is viewable through our Zoom sessions.

As we look five-to-ten years down the road I see us doing exactly what we are doing now, strengthening our presence in more areas of New Jersey, hiring great people who are trained, reliable, empathetic, and caring. And discovering additional methods to help our individuals live as independent a life as possible.
